Department of Prosthodontics educates the students to be competent in treatment and management of patients who require comprehensive diagnosis, treatment plan and sequence of treatment in general Prosthodontics practice. The postgraduate program includes extensive clinical and laboratory phases of Prosthodontics training in the areas of fixed and removable partial dentures, complete dentures, maxillofacial prosthetics and implant Prosthodontics.
Apart from educating the students, the department provides care for patients who require comprehensive and advanced phases of Prosthodontics treatment. We strive to achieve excellence in treating the patient as a whole by Prosthodontics means and also train the students to make them future leaders of Prosthodontics. Prosthodontics as a subject has metamorphosed beyond traditional therapeutic approaches aimed just at tooth replacement. Modern day prosthetic dentistry focuses to restore normal contour, function, comfort, esthetics, speech & health regardless of injury, atrophy or disease. Thus together with other branches of dentistry it aims to rehabilitate the entire stomatognathic system
