Physiology is the discipline that deals with bodily functions & their control but under normal conditions. The students of 1 st BDS are taught about physiology of cell, blood, organ systems (CNS / CVS), hormones, nutrition and metabolism. The department also lays emphasis on practical methods of teaching for which we have well equipped labs where experiments are conducted for teaching CVS, Respiration, CNS Physiology and Haematology. Clinical examination of these organ systems are also taught through practical training and lecture sessions by a team of senior, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Before studying pathology the students of 1st B.D.S. are given a strong understanding of the normal functions of the human body. Thus physiology as a subject lays down the foundation for the clinical soundness in future studies.
