Department of Pedodontics
Pedodontics is a dental science focusing on the treatment of
children. This specialized care helps children feel comfortable with
dentistry. The restoration and maintenance of primary and permanent
dentitions; assisting in the prevention of dental caries and periodontal
disease; and correction of occlusion are its main objectives.
Children need different kinds of dental care according to their age and
their behavior. Special care and knowledge are required to maintain normal
growth and development of the dentition and to minimize any dental problems
The department serves special children who have difficulties in overcoming
their fear during any dental treatments. Our department leads the pack, in
the development and implementation of innovative new treatments for
childhood illness and injury. We encourage children to get an early start
when it comes to oral health. In following the tradition of meeting our
patients´ needs, we offer specialized pedodontic treatment for children. We
ensure care of the highest quality for everyone, including our youngest
patients. The students of this department are trained extensively in child
care and management. As they say ‘the child of today forms the nation of
