 Overview

The Department of Orthodontics is involved with instructing students about the concepts of malocclusion and methods of overcoming malocclusion. The Department was established right at the inception of the institute with the goal of offering under-graduate and post-graduate study in orthodontics. The aim of the teaching program in orthodontics is to provide training in the navigation, prevention and interception of dental malocclusions and correction of  occlusal problems by removable/ functional appliances and fixed appliances.

PREVENTIVE , INTERCEPTIVE, CORRECTIVE, SURGICAL , ADJUNCTIVE AND ADULT ORTHODONTIC CARE IS PROVIDED TO THE PATIENTS WITH A VARIETY OF PROCEDURES LIKE:

Ø       MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY USING FIXED AND REMOVABLE APPLIANCES

Ø       DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS

Ø       RAPID MAXILLARY EXPANSION

Ø       STANDARD EDGEWISE TECHNIQUE

Ø       STRAIGHT WIRE APPLIANCE TECHNIQUE

Ø       PREADJUSTED EDGEWISE APPLIANCE

Ø       TIP EDGE TECHNIQUE

Ø       MBT TECHNIQUE

Ø       INVISIBLE ORTHODONTICS/ LINGUAL ORTHODONTICS

Ø       SURGICAL ORTHODONTICS INCLUDING ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY IN COLLABORATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY
