Department of Community Dentistry

The Department of Community Dentistry is dedicated to training undergraduate students in public health dentistry to work within interdisciplinary teams to conduct surveys for oral diseases, their relation to systemic diseases. To meet the extensive dental treatment needs of the community, our institution is organizing free dental check-up and treatment camps along with dental education programs at the doorsteps of the population in well-equipped mobile dental van. Community Dentistry as a subject is in the curriculum of third year B.D.S. course with its examination in theory, practical and fieldwork.
STUDENTS of the program will work:
To encourage the development and maintenance of community dentistry programs
To increase the use of preventive dentistry programs in community dentistry programs
To improve access to dental care for underserved populations, and the quality of care for all populations
To stimulate research in
Dental Public Health with emphasis on disease surveillance, health services
research, program evaluation, and causes of diseases

DEPARTMENTAL MUSEUM
5) PIT AND FISSURE SEALANTS AND TOPICAL FLUORIDE APPLICATION
6) CONDUCTING EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEYS TO ASSESS THE
PREVAILING ORAL HEALTH PROBLEMS IN THE LOCAL AREA
7) ORAL HYGIENE PROGRAM FOR THE PRE-SCHOOL AND SPASTIC
CHILDREN
