    Faculty and students from I.T.S CDSR, Muradnagar attended a celebrity night at I.T.S Mohannagar campus on 24th March, 2017. The attraction was a live musical night and band performance by star celebrity -  Guru Randhawa.

    Faculty members  and students enjoyed the mesmerizing performance and danced on the hit numbers which the celebrity sang one after the other.

    It was an eve to remember and all the faculty and students from I.T.S CDSR enjoyed the event to the fullest.

    The White Coat Ceremony, marking the transition of III BDS students from preclinical to the undergraduate clinical programme, was organised in Vikram Sarabhai auditorium on 21st March 2017. The Ceremony involved the official handing over of the White Coat to students, which they use in clinics while treating patients. The annual academic awards were also presented to the meritorious students of BDS and MDS at the same event. Faculty of ITS Dental and College, parents and students of III BDS and the awarded students of all batches attended the function.
    The programme began with procession of the IIIrd year batch into the auditorium followed by a prayer invoking the almighty. This was followed by distribution of certificates to the whole batch. Dr. Vinod Sachdev, PG Director, welcomed the gathering and said that wearing a white coat not only showed the world that the person was a doctor, but also reflected one's calling. He said that it was the duty of the doctor to put the needs of others above one's own.
    Prof. Sanjeev Kumar administered the dental oath. He urged the students to respect the white coat as it is a symbol of their commitment to excellence in science and patient care.
    The Principal, Dr. Devi Charan Shetty announced the academic awards which were graciously presented to the students by the Chief Guest, Dr Dhirendra Srivastava (Dean, ESIC Dental College & Hospital, New Delhi) and the dignitaries on the dias. The highlight of the day was the acknowledgement of those students who had shown significant improvement of their previous rank in class.
    Mr. Arpit Chaddha, Vice Chairman of ITS – The Education Group, urged the students to practice dentistry ethically and maintain dignity and decorum. He congratulated the faculty for the excellent academic awards students have won.
    The Chief Guest of the Ceremony was Dr. Dhirendra Srivastava, senior maxillofacial surgeon of Delhi and Dean of ESIC Dental College. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Srivastava said that the colour white is a symbol of truth, piousness, knowledge and cleanliness. Through examples, he gave several mantras to the students to follow in clinical situations.
    The programme was capped with a vote of thanks from Prof. Harsh Jain followed by the National Anthem.

    On the occasion of World Oral Health Day,  Chairman of I.T.S -The Education Group, Dr. R.P Chadha and Vice Chairman Mr. Arpit Chadha expressed their views to the staff / students of I.T.S Dental College, Muradnagar regarding the importance of oral health maintenance in our daily life.
    World Oral Health Day is celebrated to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene for  everyone old and young.The World Oral Health Day message was conveyed to the community and school children of Sultanpur Village. The theme of this World Oral Health Day 2017 was“Live Mouth Smart”. It is estimated that 90% of the world’s population will suffer from oral diseases in their lifetime and many of them can be avoided with increased governmental, health association and society support and funding for prevention, detection and treatment programmes. On this occasion of World Oral Health Day on 20th March 2017, I.T.S Dental College organised a Mega Camp at Village Sultanpur and following activities were carried out :-
    Oral Screening was carried out for the community.
    Street Play, Oral Hygiene Sessions, Health Talk was carried out by the faculty members undergraduate students, interns for spreading awareness regarding oral health and physical health.
    For Edentulous patients, Denture Fabrication was carried out at the venue.
    Pit & Fissure Sealants application in the children's for prevention of dental decay.
    Restorations
    Oral Prophylaxis
    Extractions
    Oral Cancer Screening and Diagnosis.
    Physiotherapy Check up
    Medical check up
    Total 374 patients were screened and treated. Thus, the aim was to get everyone to  recognise the impact of their oral health on overall physical health and well-being and to help inspire this change. The Program was Jointly carried out by Faculty, Post graduates, Undergraduates and Interns of Dept.of Public Health Dentistry, Dept. of Prosthodontics, Dept. of Pedodontics, Dept. of Oral Medicine & Radiology, Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.
    The spirit and unity of ITS parivaar could once again be appreciated in the success of this camp.

    A team of doctors along with post-graduate students and auxiliary staff rendered health care at the camp site comprising dental / medical / eye/ physiotherapy / screening and treatment for the patients with respective illness. All treatments were provided free of cost, which included  oral cavity examination besides  oral health talk, oral hygiene instructions,  tooth restorations, oral prophylaxis, X-rays and tooth extractions. Medicines were dispensed free of cost and patients were referred to the I.T.S.C.D.S.R for further reatment. The following table provides overview of camps conducted during 13-03-17 to 19-03-17.

    Dr Peter Borbely , President, Hungarian Orthodontic Society visited ITS-CDSR, Muradnagar, Ghaziabad on 10th March 2017. In his masterclass in orthodontics he presented his cases on “Correcting space discrepancy with mid-sagittal osteo-distraction”.

    All the faculty members & post-graduate students of the Department of Orthodontics &
    Dentofacial Orthopedics attended his masterclass and interacted with Dr Peter. He showed a keen interest and appreciated the cases treated in the department. The exchange of ideas was enriching for both the students and the faculty.  Dr Peter Borbely has now been appointed as a visiting Professor at ITS Dental College

    Dr. Nikita Gulati  was awarded Vice Chancellor gold medal  from CCS University, Meerut for securing highest marks in MDS exams across all the Dental Institutions registered with CCS.
    She was also awarded with the Certificate of Excellence for securing first position in MDS examination by CCS university, Meerut.
    After completion of Post Graduation at I.T.S CDSR Dr Nikita Gulati is working as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at I.T.S CDSR.

    A two day interclass cultural fiesta- ‘EUPHORIA – 2017’ was held at I.T.S Centre for Dental Studies and Research, Muradnagar Ghaziabad. The event was declared open by Mr Arpit Chadha (Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group) on 7th March 2017 in Vikram Sarabhai Auditorium.
    All the undergraduate students, interns and postgraduate students participated in the event. A number of on stage and off stage events were organized including solo and group singing, solo and group dance, skits, fashion show, dumb charades, master-chef, tug of war, card making, tattoo making among the many.
    The entire event witnessed a new level of energy and enthusiasm across the campus. A DJ night was organized for the students on 7th March 2017.
    The fest continued through the whole day of 8th March 2017. The highlights of this day were fashion show and group dance. This was followed by a live performance by the famous wrapper – Mr. Fazilpuria.
    The event concluded on 8th March, 2017 where the winners were encouraged and all the participants were motivated by Mrs Latika Chadha. The dignitaries for the Valedictory function were Mr Arpit Chadha (Vice Chairman, ITS- The Education Group) , Mrs Latika Chadha, Dr Vinod Sachdev (Director PG studies) and Dr D C Shetty (Principal).
    The event was well organized by the Organizing Secretary Dr Vijay Mishra and his team – the Cultural Incharge, Dr Vidhi Rathi, and Sports Incharge Dr Mannu Dhilon &Dr Avnish Singh. The entire faculty of the medical and dental block participated enthusiastically to make this endeavour successful

    On the occassion of  Dentist Day,  Chairman of I.T.S -The Education Group, Dr. R.P Chadha and Vice Chairman Mr. Arpit Chadha expressed their views to the staff / students of I.T.S C.D.S.R Muradnagar  on raising awareness on dental health for the community and making them appreciate the Dentist for their valuable co-operation to the society. 
    The National Dentist Day was conveyed to the community especially school children were targeted as they are the future generation of our country. If the awareness  is created among youngsters it will help us to build a better knowledge on oral health and know the importance of Dentist.  The following activities were observed for school children at school premise, Sultanpur Village as initiated by Dr Ipseeta Menon. The school children were educated by giving a session of oral hygiene instructions, teaching the correct brushing technique, quiz competition, matching correct oral health pictures - creating fun learning , distribution of crayons and colours, drawing competition on Dentist Day and its importance, release of smiley balloons to make a never ending bond with their dentists. The fun activities brought a lot of excitement and laughter to the school children and they enjoyed each and every moment thoroughly. The winners of Quiz and Drawing Competition were awarded.  All this initiatives were taken by Faculty, Post graduates and Interns of Dept. of Public Health Dentistry - Dr Avnish, Dr Ricky, Dr Anubhav. 
    The following students actively participated in this event : Dr Ishani, Dr Preeti, Dr Jyoti, Dr Upasna, Dr Deepa, Dr Disha, Dr Vidya and Dr Venkat. 
    Take home message of this event:
    •    Be aware and educate yourself about your Dentist - show your appreciation and say Thank You to your Dentist.
    •    Creating awareness on oral problems.
    •    Oral hygiene instructions.
    •    Regular Visit to your Dentist.
    •    Make your Dentist your "Friend for Life"

    The CONS ENDO week was celebrated at I.T.S Dental College, Muradnagar organised by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics on 4th  and 5th March.
    This celebration was all about witnessing the sublime aspects of Endodontics and Conservative dentistry and making people aware about dental diseases and motivating them for healthy dentition. This extravaganza was a two day event, 4th march and 5th march. The CDE programme was inaugurated by the Director PG studies, Dr Vinod Sachdev, Principal,  Dr  Devicharan Shetty, Guest Speaker, Dr Kuber sood and Organizing chairperson, Dr Sonali Taneja. The CDE Programme involved a massive participation of 250 delegates including both undergraduate and post graduate students. The colleges all over Delhi and NCR regions actively participated with great zeal, colleges like AIIMS, Maulana Azad Dental college, Subharti Dental College, SGT Gurgaon , DJ Dental college, ESI Dental college, Bankey Bihari Dental college, Sudha Rastogi Dental College and Manav Rachna Dental College and also as far from Pacific Dental college, Udaipur.
     
    The CDE programme’s highlights were lectures and hands-on about the latest inventions in Esthetic and Conservative dentistry by a renowned clinician, Dr Kuber Sood. The day was followed by numerous competitive activities like debate, poster, slogan and essay writing competition where all the winners were awarded with exclusive certificates from the IACDE society itself.
     
    The next day was a walkathon arranged near Nandgram region of Ghaziabad. A walking rally of Endodontists marched for "keeda hatao, daant bachaao" slogan where all the staff and students from the Conservative Department and the undergraduate students also participated. A free dental camp was also organised where free dental check-ups and pamphlets were distributed to local residents and patients were motivated for dental treatments at I.T.S dental college, Muradnagar. They were made aware about the best treatment, latest technology and equipments at I.T.S Dental College. Patients were also educated about various dental diseases and encouraged for Root canal treatment only by the specialists with an easy reach at I.T.S dental college.
    The two days event was a fruitful programme both for the society, the students and the Endodontists themselves.
