CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY & ENDODONTICS
The foundation, and literally the “bread and butter” of clinical dentistry is the speciality of Conservative and Endodontics. This branch is concerned with the conservation of teeth in the mouth.
Operative Dentistry involves various intra and extraoral restorations of teeth, while Endodontics deals with diseases surrounding the root of the tooth.
In this department, various research and clinical procedures are performed to save natural teeth that have defects due to dental caries, trauma, abrasion and attrition, and aesthetic disharmony including developmental anomalies of tooth discoloration, as well as pulpal and/or periapical diseases. Treatment aims at restoring proper tooth morphology, function and a harmonious relationship with the surrounding tissues, while preserving pulpal health.
The department has a total of 26 publications in national & international journals.
